Growing up, Baro co-founders Mike Cerka and Tyler Quarles spent a sizable helping of their time active on the mountains surrounding Vancouver, Canada. But as those days snowboarding and trailblazing shifted to make room for more time in the city, the guys found they still fancied the silhouettes and styles that permeated outdoor technical wear.
Baro emerged from Cerka and Quarles’ desire for performance jackets that thrive in northern inclement weather but still looked great during everyday use. Clean, classic designs pack the necessary features — durable water repellent coating, waterproof zippers, etc — to achieve that end. That combination of streamlined and affordable has caught the eye of tastemakers like The Cut, New York Magazine and Transworld Business.
